Obituary of Rodney David Richer

Rodney Richer, 70, passed away at University Hospital October 25. He was a lifetime resident of Baldwinsville. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and was a decorated combat veteran. Rod was a retired Ironworker for the Local 60 Union in Syracuse after over 40 years of service. He served on the Board of Directors for the Early American Industries Assoc. and the Onondaga Co. Antique Dealer Assoc. He collected antique tools. Rod was a Civil War enthusiast and was a Civil War Reenactor. He appeared as a background artist in the movie "Gettysburg" and "Andersonville". He also volunteered for 20 years at Gettysburg National Military Park. Rodney is survived by his wife of 45 years, Denise Larkins Richer; children, Christa Cook and Rodney (Samantha) Richer, Jr; and grandchildren, Madison and Caitlin Cook, and Brycen Richer. Calling hours are 5-7 pm Friday, October 27 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. A Service will follow at the funeral home.
