Obituary of John P. Ditz

John P. Ditz, 83, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at home. He was born in Marble, PA and lived in the Syracuse area for over 60 years. John worked at General Electric as an Assistant Electrical Engineer for 37 years. He earned a BS in Finance from Syracuse University in 1985 and worked as a tax preparer and manager at H&R Block after retiring from GE. As a devote Catholic and dedicated parishioner of St Augustine's Parish, he was awarded the Diocese of Syracuse Immaculata Award in 2014. John is predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Virginia, sister, Anne Beichner, and sons-in-law, Harold Foster and Donald Byrnas. Survivors include daughters, Cynthia (Thomas) Teamann, Mary Foster and Christine Byrnas Ditz; sons, Michael Ditz, David Ditz, Thomas (Lori) Ditz and Paul (James) Ditz-Kellogg; siblings, Jean Amato, Charles (Catherine) Ditz, Mary Lee (William) O'Connell and Barbara (Dennis) Huffman; grandchildren, Gregory, Matthew, Geoffrey, Daniel, Mark, Kali and Rory; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. at Falardeau Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017, at the funeral home located at 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville, NY.
