Dear John Ditz,
I never met you in person, but I feel as if I know you through your son, my husband, Paul Kellogg-Ditz.
In Paul, I see a very doting father. He truly loves his daughter, your granddaughter, with all his being. I also see a man of passion -- for the underdog and for his community. His heart is with the voiceless and with those who are in need of a champion -- a warrior servant. In addition, Paul has a brilliant whit. His beautiful mind continues to fascinate me. He is, without a doubt, a reflection of you.
It is obvious that you and your wife raised the love of my life to be the best human being possible. Your strength, compassion, humor, and sense of family lives on in Paul. You have left behind a strong legacy of service and compassion for humanity.
Please know he will be taken care of. He has a community of friends and family who love him, surround him and watch out for him. He also has me -- together we will face the world head on. I will always love him, protect him and honor him.
I am saddened that I never met you -- the man who raised and gave me my knight in shining armor.
Thank you for being a dad and mentor to my (our) Paul.
