Obituary of Brendan G. Jackson

Please share a memory of Brendan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brendan Jackson, 58, passed away on Sunday, April 30. Brendan was a lifelong Syracuse resident, and a graduate of CBA Syracuse and LeMoyne College. He touched many lives as the Director of Adjunctive Therapies at Four Winds Hospital, Cross Country Coach at LeMoyne, and then as a Coach at Fleet Feet Sports. A love for running and the running community pervaded his life. He won multiple Section 3 titles at CBA and was ranked second in the country in the 800-meters as a Masters runner. He later competed in several marathons, including Boston and New York, and was a two-time Ironman finisher. Despite his accomplished running career, Brendan may best be remembered for the support he provided to so many people of all ages and speeds – words of encouragement chalked on racecourses, and pre-race pep-talks laced with wit. His son, Seth, will miss his presence at races, where Brendan maintained almost perfect attendance for a decade, and his wife, Jenny, will always cherish the memory of him stopping mid-race, engagement ring in hand. His charisma and humor will be missed, but never forgotten. Calling hours will be 4-7 pm Friday, May 5 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. A private funeral will be held at a later date at the family's convenience.
