Brendan and I shared a suite with a couple other guys at LeMoyne our senior year. He was a good guy. Everybody liked him. His dad was a teacher at LeMoyne and we all enjoyed his classes. It's sad he passed at such a young age. My condolences to his family.

I was shocked when I heard on Wed after the Seneca 7 that Brendan had passed during the relay. I was at the start of the relay to see 2 of our Hobart/HWS teams begin the relay. Brendan is a huge loss to the running/fitness community in the Syracuse area. I've know Brendan since he was a great runner for LeMoyne. Then shared some coaching experiences while he was at LeMoyne. I always enjoyed spending some time with him at meets while I was/ still coaching Hobart Cross Country. He was always a fun guy to be with at meets or when we were racing. Live fit forever in spirit Brendan!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jackson family. We were stunned to hear of Brendan's death tonight. We got to know him via Aim High Running Camp in 1997, and kept in touch for several years. Tom & I both dearly loved Brendan, and have very happy memories of time spent with him. He is someone who made a real difference while impacting lives through his passion for running. His legacy will live on in the lives that he touched. Again, to his family, we are so terribly sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed by many. Many, many people will have wonderful memories to cherish of the time they were privileged to share with him.

Seth and Mrs. Jackson,
My deepest condolences to you on your loss. I only personally spoke with your father a few times, but, even so, he always recognized me whenever I would see him around town or out in the running community. He knew Seth and I had been friends growing up and would always acknowledge me and ask how I was doing. His genuine interest and compassion toward others always stood out to me. I have read numerous articles and tributes about your father over the last week and it is incredible to see how much of an inspiration he was to everyone around him. The number of lives he touched and the legacy he has left is immeasurable. He will always be so fondly remembered.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Sincerely,
Rachel Hayes

Dear Jenny and Seth,
I had the pleasure of meeting Brendan when he and I worked at Benjamin Rush Center in the early 80's. We even discovered we were neighbors in Manlius for a time. From the minute I meant Brendan, his charisma was evident as was his zest for life. Over the years, I had the pleasure of bumping into Brendan a few times. Always he recognized me and his shining personality was always present. He was so happy to be married to you Jenny and was so proud to have Seth as his son. Please accept my deepest sympathy. May your beautiful memories of Brendan ease your pain. He will live in your hearts forever!
Sending you warm hugs,

Jen & Seth,
Brendan was my cross country coach while I was at Le Moyne. His sense of humor, passion for the sport and team building skills helped create a very strong bond amongst all of us. Some of the workouts he had us doing seemed crazy at the time, but they challenged me enough to achieve my far reaching goal (All-State). We had a mantra that we would chant before the start of our races, "How are we going to do this... TOGETHER!"
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as we are all in this ... together!

My deepest condolences to Bo's wife, son, and family. He surely lived a beautiful life, following his passion of running, and helping and encouraging others. I'd like to share a sweet remembrance.
My sister Kirschen and I lived on Candee Avenue in Syracuse, a street away from Edgehill, where the Jackson boys and their family lived for a while, in the early Seventies. We were young pre-teens, riding our bikes together, and playing games in the Charles Andrews school fields. Bo was our fearless leader, and to this day, I recall his sparkling wit, and boundless energy. I had something of a thirteen-year old's first major crush!
One day we were playing softball. Bo got a hit, and I recall chasing him to tag him with the ball. I ran like the wind, and caught the very tip of his heel. There was a stunned silence that everyone registered. A mere girl touched our neighborhood Hero! We all laughed together. I'll never forget that day!
We missed Bo, Derrick, and Mark, when they moved away, but soon caught up with them, in the Syracuse Chargers summer nights track meets. By then, my sister and I were running for both the Chargers, and Nottingham, and we would often encounter the stellar CBA team, while running infamous Peck Hill. Always a big wave and smile for Bo!!! Much Love and Light on your Journey, dear friend.

I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Brendan in a challenging position with children/adolescence/and adults for 14 years. These clients suffered from significant mental health issues which featured low self esteem/depression/substance abuse issues just to name a few ... .
His energy, enthusiasm and skill as a human services professional was above and beyond anyone that I've ever associated with within this arena. He had the gift to make someone's darkest times transform into optimistic visions of sunshine and rainbows; truly a gift that is hard to observe in many people.
Furthermore, Brendan exhibited these aforementioned character traits to everyone from any walk of life whom he crossed paths with; everyone that had the privilege to have crossed paths with this man is truly blessed; my sustained interest in working with people that have substance abuse addiction is attributable to Brendan's profound influence earlier in my career.
Brendan, I will miss you ... you will never be forgotten ... your spirit will live on amongst us. Jenn and Seth, please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Peaceful Journey My Friend,
Jay

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Brendan personally, but I know Seth. In little under a year, Seth has become one of the most impactful coaches I have ever had and continues to surprise and support me every day through his passion for the sport and compassion for its runners. This is clearly a trait shared, and a passion inspired by his father.

I worked with Brendan at the Benjamin Rush Center from 1984 to 1985 and would see him from time to time after that at races that my wife, Melanie participated in. I always enjoyed seeing him and his huge smile. Brendan was very positive, he had a wonderful perspective on life and he never said an unkind word about anyone. Needless to say I was shocked and saddened by his passing. My sincere condolences to his friends and family.

I met Brendan a number of years ago when friends twisted my arm to do my first triathlon. Our respective teams would proceed each other in or out of a pool or lake or on a bike course. I will never forget his words of encouragement for all the folks participating regardless of their team affiliation. He was a true lover of the sport. I will never ever forget the countless times I would round a particular corner on the course and there would be Brendan shouting - Go ANT you got this!
My deepest sympathies to your family. He was a tremendous man and thank you for sharing him with the world. Racing won't be the same without him.

Jenny, Seth, and the Jackson Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Brendan. His enthusiasm for life and endless optimism was greatly admired by all. Yet, to me, his greatest gift was his ability to be completely present with whomever he was with in any given moment in time. He was one of those few people who could live life to its fullest while at the same time helping everyone around him feel special. My many years at Benjamin Rush were better having him as a colleague, and he was truly loved by all, both young and old. I will miss him, yet his spirit lives strong.
Most sincerely, Jim Mikesell

Brendan was my marathon coach for Team in Training back in the fall of 2005. We would meet up every Sunday morning across the Syracuse area, and he would have his car loaded with water and Gatorade jugs, and plenty of chalk so we could read inspiring messages on the road at 6 a.m. while we ran farther than we had ever gone before. I was a student at SU at the time, the youngest person in the training group, and Brendan made me feel like a million bucks every time I saw him. He was a phenomenal person and a phenomenal coach. Our group traveled to Walt Disney World to complete our marathon. I continued running afterward, and now coach cross country and track and field at the high schoo level. I am very sorry for your loss, but am grateful to have known Brendan Jackson. God bless.

My deepest sympathies to the family. It seems like every time I went to Fleet Feet in Clay Brendan was the one to wait on me. Over the years I must have bought at least 4 pairs of shoes, and every time he was sooo patient, informative, and made the experience extremely painless to where I couldn't wait to try my new shoes. I never left the store feeling I made an unwise purchase. He was extremely kind, and encouraging and friends I know are devastated. The guy will be missed but NEVER forgotten.
