Lt. Col. (Ret.) Donald H. Duger, 79, of Jordan, passed away on January 22nd, 2015. He was a 1952 graduate of Cato High School, and a 1954 graduate of Morrisville College. Don joined the Air Force in 1954, where he proudly served as a jet fighter pilot until 1968, describing it as the most fun you can have with your clothes on. He worked at Truax and Hovey for 20 years, retiring in 2003. He was passionate about the environment; he served on the Elbridge Environmental Commission for over 25 years.
He was an avid restorer of canoes and paddled his refurbished crafts on New Yorks waterways. His greatest love was spending his time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his legendary sense of humor, his quick wit, his amazing garden and his zest for life.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Patricia (Carrington), his children, Donald (Jim) of Dorchester, MA, Douglas (Margie) of Jordan, Daniel (Sandra) of Marcellus, Cody (Robin) of Cato, and Carrie (Robert) of Belchertown, MA. He is also survived by his sister Darlene Duger Nowey (Tim) of Jordan, grandchildren Josh, Abbie, Dustin, Briana, Tori, Tristan, Delaney, Dillon, Justin, Ian and Paige. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on January 25th, 2015 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm with funeral service at 1:00pm, Monday,January 26th, 2015 both at the Falardeau Funeral Home in Baldwinsville. Burial in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
