James E. O'Brien, 76, of Baldwinsville passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at St. Camillus surrounded by his family. He was born July 19, 1935 in Niagara Falls, New York, son of Joseph and Hazel O’Brien. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps; he served in the Korean War. He worked for Niagara Mohawk for more than 15 years as a jouneyman lineman and retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1249 in 1994. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, but his true passion was golf. Jim spent many afternoons at Seneca Golf Course. He was an avid reader and sports fan who followed horse racing, football and hockey. Jim enjoyed his life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Survivors: his wife of 52 years, Diane; daughters, Kimberlee (Walter) Larkin of Baldwinsville, Kathryn (John) O”Brien-Haley of Cazenovia, Kelly (Patrick) O’Brien-Goode of Liverpool; son, John O’Brien of Baldwinsville and his beloved grandchildren Sean, Timothy, Haley, Ryan, Shannon and John. Services will be private, there will be no calling hours.
