Obituary of Beverly H. Welcher

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beverly Hunter Welcher, 68, of Baldwinsville passed away peacefully at Francis House on Sunday, June 14, 2009 after a short battle with leukemia. Born in Cicero, she was one of the last students to attend the Stone Arabia One-Room Schoolhouse. She graduated from Oswego State and taught 3rd grade for 8 years in Baldwinsville schools. An avid reader and sewer while at home raising her two children, she also volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and actively donated blood and platelets at the Red Cross. After the complicated birth of her first grandchild, Bev began quilting and founded a local chapter of Project Linus, which, in the past 9 years, has donated nearly 9,000 blankets to children in need throughout CNY. After the passing of her husband in 2004, she became a volunteer with Hospice, her “second family”. Creativity and attention to detail came through in all her endeavors. Her love of games, her engaging laugh and Mema’s “Pro” status in Wii bowling will be missed. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 35 years, Neil R. Welcher. Surviving are son Brian (Michelle) Welcher of Liverpool, NY; daughter Kristen (Trev) Euliss of Mebane, NC; brother Kenneth (CJ) Hunter of Boise, ID; and five grandchildren. Friends may call on Friday, June 19, 2009 from 3:00-6:00pm at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville with services to follow at 6:00pm. Contributions in Bev’s name can be made to Hospice of CNY in Liverpool or Francis House of Syracuse.
