Aaron R. Overton Sr., 80, of Mattydale, passed away on Sunday, November 21st.

 

Aaron has lived in the Syracuse area most of his life. At the age of 33, he accepted Christ as his Savior and surrendered to the ministry. He is a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. In January of 1979, he was called to Temple Baptist Church in Baldwinsville, NY and served as the pastor for the next 32 years. After his retirement, he continued serving the Lord in various capacities.

 

Aaron is survived by his wife, Carol (Gwilt), his 5 children; Aaron (Mary) Overton Jr, Wendy (Dave) Ratliff, William Overton, Karen (Dan) Liscum, Kevin Overton, 18 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

 

Calling hours will be held from 9 to 11 AM, Friday, December 3, at First Baptist Church of Memphis, 1960 W. Genesee Turnpike, Elbridge, NY, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 441 West Kirkpatrick St. Syracuse, NY 13204, or Temple Baptist Church 2295 Downer St Rd. Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
