S. John Pantaleo, 81, of Baldwinsville passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and lived in the area all his life. He graduated from Baldwinsville High School in 1958. John served in the US Airforce from 1958 -1962. He was a Deputy Sheriff with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department retiring after 20 years of service in 1986. John loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. He was a member of the FOP, the Liverpool-Syracuse F&AM, the American Legion Post 113 and the VFW Post 153. John was predeceased by his son Bobby; his father Dominick; his mother, Doris (Robert) Hamilton and his sister, Toni Gail Madden. Surviving are his wife Anne of 51 years; daughter, Joanne Pantaleo (Slade Aubeuf); grandchildren, Bryn and Dominick Demong; sister-in-law, Lorraine Melita (Robert Nichols); brother-in-law, Robert Madden; nephew, Joel Madden; nieces, Maureen and Diane Melita and several cousins. Calling hours are 4-7 pm, Wednesday, March 18th at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A Masonic service will be held at 7 pm following calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Thursday, March 19th at St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville. Following the Mass a celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Hall on Smokey Hollow Road. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fulton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 113, 8529 Smokey Hollow Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
