I was very saddened to hear of Vern's passing. My condolences to his whole family.
He, along with his sons and company, have been a treasured part of my life. In addition,Vern has been an inspiration to me and
because of his excellent leadership, his competence, honor, decency, and respect showed up in the operation of his company.
It was the quietest and most professional concrete company I have ever worked with. I will never forget the time that one of his young employees complained about using a long single plank wide way to get a full wheelbarrow of concrete to a hard location. Without raising his voice he took the full wheelbarrow, used the plank, dumped the concrete, and then gave the wheelbarrow back to the employee. There were no more complaints.
Vern - so happy to have talked to you this winter. All CNY will truly miss you!!

My sincere condolences to the Benedict family. Mr Benedict was one of a kind. He opened his arms to my boys and I so many years ago and treated us like his own. I thank him for all the memories. They have learned so much and I can only hope they will forever hold on to his lessons and be the strong and kind young men that he seen in their hearts. Rest In Peace Mr Benedict. To his family...Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you

My Grandfather was a kind and humble man who raised wonderful and hard working children. My memories of him will always be his warmth and love towards me, and my children and husband. He took pride is my successes and always wanted see me reach my potential. His humor could be so unexpected at times, that it left you rolling. I have always been, and will always be, proud to be his Granddaughter.
