Mary Irene Stanton, 94, passed away peacefully with loving friends and family by her side, at Syracuse Home on March 27, 2019. Irene worked for Nestle for over 30 years. Her passion was music and she shared this passion with many people. She was choir director at 1st Presbyterian Church in Fulton for many years and also a voice teacher, helping others develop their own skills. Irene was also an opera singer with Syracuse Opera, Binghamton Opera, and Ars Nova Chorale. Irene is predeceased by her grand-daughter Melissa Ishman.
Surviving Irene are her son, Lee (Anna) Stanton; daughter, Linda Straney; grandchildren, Jeffery (Kristin) Stanton, Michael (Colleen) Diagle; and several nieces and many dear friends.
Memorial services are 1 pm, Saturday, April 13 at The Vineyard Church, 312 Lakeside Rd Syracuse.
