We are very sorry for the loss of Aunt Phyllis. We had a lot of good times at the old house when we were kids, All things do come to an end but its the memories that keep us going. Theres not much left of the Jarvis Elders but we must all move on. I know she is in a much better place now and some day we will all be together again, Age gets the best of us. Again our deepest regrets and hope to see all in the future.

Phyllis knew and loved God. She was a spiritual rock, hiding under a sweet, simple, humble personality. For several years, back in the 60’s she hosted a tiny meditation group of a few college students, every Thursday night. Many nights I was the only other attendee, aside from her ring of children. We’d all pray, sing, and talk about God. While the cold and snow frosted the outside, love and devotion warmed the souls in her living room. Phyllis is one of God’s favorites. Her love was bright and her loyalty unwavering. Her conviction was based on truly knowing and being God’s instrument. We are blessed to have been with her in our embrace of the Divine for a few years.

Aunt Phyllis was one of a kind! Always one of my favorites - so loving, and her door was always open. As a child, going to Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Larry's was always a big treat for me because they had GIRLS!! You were always so nice to me and were always interested in what I was doing, I loved visiting. One of the first "out of town" drives I took when I had my own car was to drive out to see the family - you all were so excited to see me and that was special and meant a lot. When I was living in Houston, Texas, I was absolutely surprised one day when out of the blue I received a phone call from Aunt Phyllis! I hadn't seen her in years, and yet - she told me that she was thinking of me and wanted to catch up. We seemed to talk for a while and I will never forget that call because it made me feel so special that someone from back home was thinking of me. Although we didn't see each other much, there was an unspoken connection I will never forget.
When my Dad was dying, I spent 3-4 weeks up in NY and I will never forget being invited to spend Thanksgiving Day with the family up at the house in the woods. What a treat! I remember melted candles on the candelabras and seeing all of my cousins and their families for the first time since I was an adult. What a celebration and wonderful family atmosphere. You were all so kind and exciting. Thank you for opening the door to me and making me feel like just another member of your family.
Although, there were many circumstances directing my life; my biggest regret is not settling closer to family and being able to spend more time with this particular group. What a family! I loved you all and Aunt Phyllis knew how to make things fun and interesting - she truly was the glue that held you all together and spread the love. Even though far apart, I miss you all and will especially miss my Aunt Phyllis.
