I was so sorry to read of Ray's passing. My husband and I rented an apartment from them in the house across the street from their home. Ray and Betty were such kind hearted people. May you find comfort in all of the memories that you have of him.

I was a young lad about 8 years old in the early 1960's and I remember my father Gordon would always by a car[used, as that's all we could afford]. from Cooper Motors. One day i heard my dad by a car from Coopers over the phone. [sight unseen]. I remember going with my Dad to pick up the car and the salesman saying "I' have never sold a car over the phone to anyone' My Dad simply said ' I know I can always trust you folks' I'm 61 years old now and I never forgot that.May your beloved rest in peace. Sincerely Charles Stanton, Martville, NY.

Dear Debbie and Kevin,
I just learned a few minutes ago of your dad’s passing, too late to make his calling hours, and for that I am truly sorry. Our families have known each other for at least 50 years, and we are deeply saddened by this loss. I often saw Ray - at the Cottage Restaurant, the post office, the grocery store - he was always cordial and kind and smiling! In fact, I just saw him last week coming out of the drugstore; he sure kept himself active. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that he lived a busy life right up until the end. My sincere sympathy to you and your families.

Kevin, Beth, Debby, and Craig...All my condolences to you and the family members. All my love to the grandchildren as well. I could go on and on about Ray.
As someone had stated in a previous post Ray taught me some valuable life lessons. He worked hard and was passionate. He exemplified a true work ethic and digging in (though I didn't really like it when I was 18 years old!) I truly appreciate it now. He always drove me to work hard whether or not I liked it years ago, it helped me in the future.
Rest in Peace Ray and all my prayers to my good family friends. You truly had a special father, father in law, grandfather and friend in Ray. I am fortunate to have had his acquaintance.

We’ ve known Ray for 30 years. We are so saddened to hear of his passing. Mark always loved and respected Ray very much. He was 15 years old and wanted to work outside. He heard about the marina and went down and asked if they needed help. He was hired. Ray taught him so much about life, working hard and loyalty. To this day, Mark owns a boat and enjoys the fun and works on the problems he encounters with his boat due to what he learned at Cooper’s Marina. Ray shaped the life’s of many young boys and helped them be the men they are now. He will be missed. Ol’ Cotton Top as we used to say.
