Romeyn Walter Smith, 73, passed away Tuesday, March 13 at the VA Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse and lived most of his life in the Baldwinsville area. He was a US Navy Veteran and served in the Vietnam War on the USS Bronson 868. Romeyn was employed by New Process Gear for over 35 years and was a proud member of the UAW Union Local #624. He loved his time at camp on the Oswegatchie River, was an avid birdwatcher and loved his dachshunds. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father. Romeyn was predeceased by his beloved wife of 34 years, Patricia Palocy Smith, in 2000. Romeyn is survived by his sons, Romeyn Christopher (Christopher Franz) and Joshua W. (Cheryl) Smith; brothers-in-law, Ken (Michele) and Charles Palocy; and many more family and friends. Calling hours are 2-4 pm Sunday, March 18 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. A Mass of Christian Burial is 10 am Monday, March 19 at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Rd, Baldwinsville. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels, 76 Canton St, Baldwinsville, NY 13027
