Ann M. Samonte, 72, of Baldwinsville, died on Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Syracuse to Owen and Marie Hogan and received her nursing from Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital, later attending Albany Medical Center School of Anesthesia. She lived many happy years in Jamesville, NY, with her husband, Dr. Augusto Samonte. She was a coronary care nurse at Crouse-Irving Memorial, a nurse anesthetist at Community-General Hospital, and later a staff nurse at Jamesville Penitentiary. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Baldwinsville to be with family. She loved participating at Canton Woods Senior Center. She enjoyed many activities, including Mah jong, bridge, and Canasta. Ann had a lifetime connection with her friends from her alma mater, St. Anthony's in Syracuse. Ann is survived by her sister, Maureen (Hogan) Conway of Baldwinsville, nephews Adam and Brian Conway, and a loving brother-in-law Mike Conway. Calling hours and a Memorial Mass will be at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Road, Baldwinsville on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10 am. Contributions may be made to St. Augustine's in lieu of flowers.
