Obituary of Harry E Bragg III

Harry E Bragg, III, 71, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away on Saturday, September 30th, after a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was born in Syracuse on April 2, 1946, the son of the late Harry E Bragg II and Alice Bragg. On May 17, 1997, he married Merri Schmierer. Harry worked in the hearing health and education profession since 1975, first for Phonic Ear from 1975 to 1994 followed by a few years with TELEX Communications and finally retiring from Lightspeed Technologies after working from 2000 - 2012. His greatest professional joy was seeing the faces of small children light-up when he assisted in providing a device that introduced sound for the first time. In his later years, he took great pride in seeing colleagues he had mentored succeed in their careers. His proudest moments were provided by his family as he watched his children Harry E Bragg IV and Emma Bragg Davis grow into strong and loving parents themselves. For many years golf was an additional passion and he was known to have a steady foursome every weekend and ready for a pick-up game when asked.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Merri Bragg, his son Harry Bragg IV and wife Jennifer their children Harrison Bragg and Addison Bragg and his daughter Emma Bragg Davis and husband Tim and their son Jacob Davis. He is also survived by his sister Lynda Youmans and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank the entire staff at the Upstate Cancer Center for their warm and genuine care over the last ten months and Hospice of Central New York.
Calling hours will be from 10 am until noon, followed by the funeral service at 12:15, both held Wednesday, October 4th at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. Burial will follow at Pleasant Lawn, Parish NY.
