To the Entire Cole Family
My deepest condolences. There are endless stories of Don and memories that will live with many of us forever. However to sum it all up. Don was a myth of a human being and leaves behind a legacy that is larger than anyone could comprehend. He lived large and treated his friends as he wanted to be treated, with care, compassion and thoughtfulness.
May he rest in peace. We know the Lord has greeted him and said, "well done my good and faithful servant.
Nobody did it better. He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of this great man's passing. Had the priviledge of working with Don for several years. Had the uncanny ability to have a vision, and make it happen and profitable. His generosity knew no bounds. The Alexandria Bay Fire Department lost a good friend. My heart goes out to Mrs. Cole and the entire family. I will miss him greatly.

I met Mr. Cole a long time ago when I was still a teenager. I believe I first met him when my Mom (Doreen) introduced us. Through the years we would run into each other from time to time and he always remembered me by name. I remember having several chats with him at Vickeys over breakfast. Did some work for hire on Bonny Castle for him and will never forget the day my Mom and I were invited on his yacht there. Don was an amazing man and I am privileged to have known him. My heart goes out to the Cole family. God Bless.

Dear Mrs. Cole and family,
I am so sad to hear of Mr. Cole's passing. He was a great friend to the New York State Police and I have many fond memories of retirement parties and golf tournament dinners held at Bonnie Castle Resort. Mr. Cole's generosity and hospitality was second to none! I'm sure that there are many North Country Troopers who will be forever grateful to Mr. Cole. May he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him always. Thank you Mr. Cole!
Respectfully, Robert Allen

Upstate New York has lost a wonderful man this week. He did so much for Alexandria Bay in general and was a very good friend to my father - John Russell. They both loved fast boats, sports cars, and live music but there was nothing better than a sunny summer day on the River with family.
He will be truly missed but he lived a full, long life and left us many fond memories.
Farewell to a fine man!

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a great guy. I use to pump gas in A-Bay at the mobile station out front of the Stables way back in the late 80's. Mr Cole would pull up in his Lincoln and start pumping his own gas before I could get out there to pump it for him. He made a good impression on me that I'll always remember.
