Obituary of Elsie A. Collins

Elsie Aleda Collins of Baldwinsville and Chazy Lake went home peacefully on April 15, 2017. Elsie was born in Ellenburg Center, NY on February 27th, 1935 to her parents Hazel and Harry Gillette. She grew up in Lyon Mountain, NY and graduated from high School there. Elsie married Robert Collins on September 3rd, 1955. They moved to Baldwinsville and she worked at General Electric, then Will and Baumer in the mailroom and print shop. After her family started to grow, Elsie was a homemaker and stay at home mom. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, a brother Herman and her beloved husband, Robert of 53 years. She is survived by her four sons; Robert (Amy) Canandaigua, Scott (Kim) of Baldwinsville, Timothy (Liz) of Canastota and Craig (Jennifer) of Winter Springs, Florida. Alive to cherish her memories are six granddaughters; Kelly, Chloe, Madison, Mackenzie, Aleda, Katie and three grandsons; Jason, Derek and Casey; two great-granddaughters; Makayla and Keira; her brother, Robert Gillette of Lakeland, FL; several nieces and nephews. Elsie enjoyed her family and especially having her grandchildren spend time at her camp on Chazy Lake. She loved reading, gardening, and playing cards. Elsie never had anything but a kind, encouraging word to say and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. A special thank you to the staff at Syracuse Home Association for their exceptional care. Calling hours are 4-7pm Friday, April 21st at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville with a service to follow at 7:00 pm.
