Richard S. Murphy, 88, of Baldwinsville passed away Sunday at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. The son of the late Howard and Jeanne Dudley Murphy was born in Syracuse and raised in Cato. Richard attended SU and Hobart College. Most commonly known as "Murph", he was a former NYS Trooper and retired from Associated Transport in Syracuse and Marine Midland Bank in Syracuse. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, enjoyed the outdoors and loved to golf. Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who loved to entertain, play games, work on puzzles and enjoy life. Richard is predeceased by his parents and siblings Elsie Havens, Francis Donaldson, Howard Dudley Murphy and Carroll Murphy. He was united in holy matrimony to Doris Schmitt Murphy in July of 1950. The union was blessed with four children; Richard Timothy Murphy, Maureen (Kenneth) Bell, Katy (Mark) Rossler and Matthew (Heather) Murphy; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 9:30 AM Saturday, March 18 at St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse Street, Baldwinsville. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 4-7 PM Friday at Falardeau Funeral Home, Inc., 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Camillus Health and Rehab, 813 Fay Rd, Syracuse, NY 13219.
