Obituary of Everett L. Holt

Everett Lee Holt, 77, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away on February 19, 2017, while battling an ongoing illness at a Florida Hospital. Everett was born to the late Leon & Achsa Holt on August 4, 1939, in Barnard, Vermont. He was a resident of Baldwinsville, NY for over 50 years, and was previously a part-time resident of Delray Beach, Florida. Everett is survived by his wife of 55 years Katherine, son Bob (Kim), son Ron (Kelly) daughter Brenda (Brad Barrett) daughter Barbara, 9 Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Everett is preceded in death by his brothers Ernest and Eric, and survived by his sisters Eleanor Holt Billings (VT) and Ellen Holt Stetson (NY). After serving our country in the United States Navy, Everett was employed by Smith-Corona, The Sherwin-Williams Company, and EB Hungerford & Sons, before starting his own contracting business in 1972, Everett L. Holt Painting, later becoming Holt Painting Company. Over the years, Everett built a solid reputation in the paint industry as a knowledgeable professional and was always willing to help a fellow contractor in need. Everett semi-retired from the paint industry in 1992 in favor of more time and freedom with Katherine. Everett loved to golf, boat, party, travel, take naps during the day, watch SU Basketball, spend time with family, eat popcorn, go bowling, and have fun. Later in life, he became an avid reader. Everett was a long-standing member of the Syracuse Rotary Club, served for many years as an Officer with the PDCA (Painting & Decorating Contractors of America), and counted amongst its members some of his closest friends. Everett was a hard-working husband & father who loved and always provided for his family. He will be greatly missed by all. Calling Hours will be on February 28, 2017, from 4 pm to 7 pm and held at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street Baldwinsville, NY. Service will be at Falardeau Funeral Home, on March 1, 2017, at 10 am, followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery in Baldwinsville, NY. Immediate family will be gathering following the services.
