Allen W. Gustin, 79, of Baldwinsville passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017, morning at his home with his family by his side following a brief illness. He was born in Canastota and lived there most of his life before moving to Baldwinsville. Allen was employed with Carrier corporation for 35 years and was a volunteer for the Canastota Fire Department for 15 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred Gustin and Clarena Munderback Gustin; his brothers, Richard, Fred, Jr., and Lee Gustin; his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Baker Post. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Frances I. Gustin; his children; Allen Gustin (Edward Trombley), Robin (Brian) Composto and Tracey (Peter) Smart; grandchildren, Ryan (fiancé , Byancia) Gustin , Meghan Wilsch, Amber Composto and one great –grandchild, Hayidan; sister, Beverly Dupre of Canastota; brother, Rolland (Donna) Gustin of Canastota; sister-in-law, Joyce Gustin; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 4-7pm Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Funeral services are 10:00 am Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Allen was very fond of animals and the family would like folks to consider donations in his memory to the SPCA.
