Paul and I wish to extend warm hugs and deep condolences to Dick, Judi, Amy, Laura, David, Yadira, Ruthie and families at this most difficult time. We will remember you all in our prayers and at mass in the weeks to come. Chuck was a definite gem.
Chuck would be having us throw a huge party for all who wanted to come in his honor you know. I think back on all those years at the St. Lawrence River and how he used to invite the border guards to come and join us for further celebrating after we'd left Alexandria Bay to head back to Lancaster Island. I have such fond memories of all the family gatherings as we were growing up. As the oldest girl in the family with 3 older and 1 slightly younger (Chuck) cousin, I soon learned you all wouldn't play dolls with me (well Chuck could be enticed if he was the Father and the Big Boss). You guys taught me football, soccer, basketball and several other sports. Thank You All. If truth be told, Chuck was the most patient with me during lesson time.
Chuck's sense of humor, his Bliss sarcasm, Nichols gift of gab, and his smile that lit up his face always will be remembered by so many who knew him. Oh the stories he could tell. Treasure those stories and write them down. One day they could be a best seller. As Dick said last Friday when he called us in Oregon, "He lived 20 lives and should not have come out of half of them." Without a doubt I'm sure he's having a great reunion with Chick, Maryclair, Mike, my Dad and Mom and many other extended relatives.
Know full well that he was loved by many and that your cousin here in the Northwest will miss him. Special hugs to all,
