Dear Joan, Margaret and Sean....
So sorry to hear about Bernie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
We often speak of our B'ville years and have such wonderfully happy memories. Bernie always had a smile, a laugh and a joke. We will always remember him that way.

Joan & family,
I'm very sorry to read about Bernie's passing. He was very interesting to speak with and I'm sorry that I only had that one chance at Mark's Service.
I also want to tell you I'm sorry to have read about Peggy as well. I'm glad we had a chance to meet due to our family genealogy. I only wish we had more time to have gotten together and done more research. Too many health issues in my family have prevented my participation. I know you've been busy as well.
My deepest condolences.
Anne

Dear Joan and Family,
It was with a very sad heart that I read about Bernie's death in today's Boston Globe.
I go way back to 1957 when I first met Bernie at St Mary High School in Waltham. He was such a great young man...The Sisters of Notre Dame taught the girls and the Christian Brothers taught the boys...and supposedly never the twain should meet!!
However, Bernie and friends managed to keep my classroom spotless! In those days floors were hot-waxed and buffed and each month Homeroom 101 was the recipient of Bernie and friends T.L.C. They were so good to me...I loved my boys...
I still have a picture of him marching in a May Procession looking and acting as he was dressed...an angel!!!
I had a chat with him at the Class of 1962 Reunion. He looked good ...same generous, attentive attitude. He had a great sense of humor and was always coming up with a plan.
As I think of my teaching days and the many influences in my life...Bernie has always been there...I will always be grateful for his kindness...
Please know that I have all in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless,
Sister (Marie) Adrienne, SND de N.

Uncle Bernie was a great man and wonderful influence in our lives. Mark always had so much fun with him at the Crunch games and recently told me how he had taken him to The Dome when it first opened and treated him like a king and how he cherished that. A better man and uncle is tough to find. We will miss dearly. Much love Aunt Joan, Sean and Margaret. ❤️

Please accept my sincere condolences. Margaret - I saw your father earlier this year when he came into the Codes office at the Village. I can't remember why he came in, but I do remember how his face lit up when I said I knew you from elementary through high school. He filled me in on your life since high school and it was clear he was so very, very proud of you! I will pray for peace and comfort for you and for your family.

But you, O Lord, are a shield around me...
I lay down and slept. I woke up in safety,
For the Lord was watching over me.
