Obituary of Robert Henry Amodie

Robert died peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was 78. He was born in Syracuse and lived the majority of his life in the Syracuse area except for the 4-5 years that he spent in New Orleans as a child. He served in the US Marine Corp. He worked in the tile and carpet industry for 20+ years and then at various manufacturing plants in and around Syracuse, including Cambridge Filter and International Wire. He retired in 2003. In his retirement he enjoyed winter vacations to various islands in the Caribbean, many beach destinations in the southern United States and trips to New Orleans which he always held close to his heart. Summers involved Red Sox baseball games at Fenway Park, Syracuse Chiefs baseball games and the annual trips to Old Orchard Beach Maine and Old Forge, NY. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping and the outdoors but mostly he enjoyed being at home spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend Sandra J. Fitzpatrick. His sons Robert (Grace) Amodie of Liverpool, Michael (Kathy) Amodie of Liverpool, and David (Christina) of Camillus, 7 grandchildren: Alyssa (JJ) Potrikus, Michael, Ashley, Faith, Maria, Meredith and Lauren Amodie and his 3 cats, Fenway, Willow and Freeplay. At Robert's request there will be no calling hours. Funeral Services will be private. Please raise a glass of your favorite beverage and make a toast to Bob and to a life well lived.
