Rose Jean Troini of Baldwinsville, NY died in the Syracuse Home on Monday, December 28, 2015, at the age of 97. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY in 1918, she worked as a seamstress in a local dress shop. Her marriage to John Benjamin Troini in 1941 was briefly interrupted when her new husband enlisted in the US Army to fight during WW II. Both of her children were born after the war. In 1964 the family moved to Blauvelt, NY, where she worked at Glennshaw Glass Factory in Blauvelt and Lederlee Pharmaceuticals in Pearl River. Rose was predeceased by her husband John in 1988, and she then moved to Baldwinsville in 1990 to be near her daughter. She became a parishioner of St. Augustine's Church in Baldwinsville and was very active in the church, serving on many committees. She was awarded the Sister Patricia Geary Service Award and also received the Immaculata Award for Service from Bishop Cunningham. Survivng are her daughter, Carol Jacobe, a Professor of Vocal Studies at LeMoyne College, Syracuse, NY and a son John, a computer systems architech in California and wife Melanie (Renner) Troini. She is also survived by grandchildren, Allison Troini and Giovanni Troini of California and Mona Lisa Ferfort of Texas; a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Ferfort of Texas; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm Saturday, January 2, 2016, at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Rd. Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 10:00am – 12:00pm in the church prior to the Mass. Entombment will be the following Monday, January 4, 2016, in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY Contributions: St. Augustines Church or to McHarrie Life Foundation, 7740 Meigs Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027 (Syracuse Home).
