I send my sincerest sympathy to the Kozikowski family and especially to John's children and his wife, Gail, my sister. John was a devoted family man and willingly gave up many years of his retirement to look after Gail as she succumbed to Alzheimer's.
With all my best wishes and love, Barbara

I was a brand new Allstate agent in the Fairmount Fair Sears store and was to get my introduction to the ins and outs of the insurance business from a guy a few years older and who was the best informed and most knowledgeable agent of the six agents in that location. That agent was John Walter Kozikowski or Koz! He could be very direct and maybe a wee bit gruff with a new agent but he was a wonderful mentor and a true loyal and decent friend. To Gail and all his children I send some heartfelt prayers. I know things have been difficult for Gail. I want to thank you all for John Walter Kozikowski. I will miss your Dad and Husband and my friend John!!!!!!
God Bless You All,
John J. Wilson

I'd like to add some things about John's (Dad's) life that his obituary alone does not include. He also has son in law Robert Blount (married to daughter Jennifer of Skaneatles, father of three of John's grandchildren) and daughter in law Sharon Kozikowski (married to son Craig of Ohio, mother of three of John's grandchildren) who loved and were devoted to John over the past 25 to 30 years, spending many memorable days with John and his wife Gail, and will miss him dearly. Son in law Mark Dolecki (married to daughter Paige,of Washington, father of three of John's grandchildren), also was part of John's life for the past 25 years, and will also miss him.
It was not mentioned that John graduated from Paul Smith's College in the early 1960's, where he studied forestry. He made a career in Insurance, but never lost the passion for horticulture and forestry that he gained at Paul Smith's. There is little doubt to those who knew him well, that he had a special place in his heart for Paul Smith's and the friends he made there. He also studied engineering in Milwaukee for a short time prior to attending Paul Smith's, but would say with humor that he was unprepared as a young man to be co-located with so many great breweries, and he had the grades to prove it!
John devoted his last 15 years to raising four of his and Gail's grandchildren, some of whom continued to live with John until the end of his life.

John was a High School buddy and a great football player. A good friend in our days at JD.
Last seeing him at our 50th reunion let us share some good memories. He will be remembered in my prayers.
