William "Captain" Finnigan, 76, of Jack's Reef passed away Friday, August 14, 2015, at his home. He was born in New York City and had lived in the house that he and his wife built 46 years ago. Bill served in the US Navy aboard the USS Wadleigh from 1956-1960 and was retired from Crucible Steel after 36 years of service. He was a life member of the Plainville Fire Department after 53 years of service. Captain enjoyed boating and golf having had two holes-in-one during his lifetime. He was the voice of the Marching Eagles when he shouted "Go get em Eagles" at the Jordan-Elbridge Marching Band competitions. Survivors: his wife of 54 years Faith (Pilgrim) Finnigan; his children Dan (Elaine) Finnigan and Lori (Bill) Pientka; 9 grandchildren and 41/2 great-grandchildren; a niece and nephew. A celebration of life for Bill "Captain" Finnigan will be at Westvale Golf Club, 100 Golf View Dr., Camillus, NY on 9/13/15 from 1-4pm. Come and share your favorite memories.
