Leslie Simpson Bunnell, 57, of Liverpool passed away Sunday surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Harvey, Illinois the daughter of the late Louis and Frances Lewis Simpson. She was a member of Freedom Guide Dogs and Aurora of CNY. Leslie loved her camp on the lake in Henderson, where she loved to hear the waves and the birds, and to feel the sun on her face. Leslie loved animals of all kinds, particularly her guide dog, Chloe. She coordinated successful fund raising events for Freedom Guide Dogs. In 2004, Leslie received her Associates Degree in Human Services from Onondaga Community College, and completed her studies while completely blind. Survived by her loving husband of 36 years Pat Bunnell; daughters: Jackie (Kevin) Reed and Kimberly Bunnell; sisters: Deborah (John) Olender and Frances (Mark) Georgiades; brothers: Jeffrey (Brenda) Simpson and Louis (Trina) Simpson III; granddaughter, Ava Reed and several nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday July 17, 2015 at 10am in St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Calling hours are 4-7pm Thursday at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street Baldwinsville.
