Robert U. Palmer was born on January 30, 1923 in Remsen, NY passed away on May 26, 2015 in Winter Haven, Florida. Robert graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, NY in 1941 where he met his future wife Bette J. Williams. He served in the Air Force during WWII in North Africa and Italy in photo reconnaissance. After the war he married Bette on November 23, 1946 in Clinton. Robert went to work for Verizon retiring from his 39 year career in 1983 as an engineer. He and Bette lived in Baldwinsville, NY for over 40 years. Robert was a member of the United Methodist Church of Baldwinsville serving as an usher and the American Legion Corey Pashley Post 893 in Old Forge, NY where he maintained a cherished summer home. Robert was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Bette in 2001, his parents Paul & Lillian Palmer and a brother Claire Palmer. Survivors include his daughter Patricia L. Palmer of Auburn, NY; his brother and sister-in-law Dean & Jane Palmer of Davenport, FL; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard & Jean Williams of Clinton, NY; and 13 nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 9 to 11am with services to follow at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville, NY. Burial will be in Deansboro Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to the National WWII Museum, National Processing Center, PO Box 97336, Washington, DC, 20090-7336.
