Obituary of Gilford W. Richardson

Gilford W. Richardson, Jr., 71, of Mattydale died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at St. Josephs Hospital. He was born in Sterling and lived in Mattydale the past 40 years. Gil retired after 39 years with the 174th Tactical Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard as Chief Master Sergeant. He was a member of the North Central AG for 40 years and was involved with the prison fellowship ministry and the Teen Challenge ministry for several years. Gil was also a member of Gideons International. Survivors: his wife of 45 years, Shirley A. Richardson; a daughter, Regina Richardson-Peterson of St.. Louis, MO; a son Mark A. Richardson of Lakeland; grandchildren, Sarah Richardson, Ana-Rachel Richardson, Maximilian Peterson and Cecelia Peterson; great-grandson Caleb Steinbrecher; sisters, Margaret Masters of Baldwinsville and Barbara Hampton of Moravia; brothers, Charles of Baldwinsville and Joel of Sterling; several nieces and nephews. Services: Calling hours are 6:30pm - 9:00pm Sunday, June 8, 2008 at the North Central Assembly of God, 7463 Buckley Road, North Syracuse, NY 13212. Funeral services are 11:00am Monday, June 9, 2008 at the church. Burial 1:00pm Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the Plymouth Notch Cemetery, Plymouth, VT.
