My deepest sympathies extend to the family and friends of Shorty. As a neighbor to us for decades, Shorty was also a great friend to my parents, all the 'kids' on the block and our other neighbors. In fact, I may not be alive today if it wasn't for Shorty. One day, after an immense snowfall, I was playing alone in the front yard diving into the snow. Unfortunately I dove head first with my arms by my side unable to move; my head three feet down in the snow. I was beginning to lose it when all of a sudden I felt someone pull me out by my boots. It was Shorty, and he definitely saved me. That is just one of hundreds of memories, almost all of them involving laughter; his sense of humor a dominant force. He will be greatly missed; he is already. Suzie, my heart is with you and your family. All my love, Mark.
