Harry Lapchenko, 85, of Lakeland passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Oswego Hospital with his family at his side. He was born in Syracuse and lived in Lakeland all his life. Harry retired from Allied Chemical Co. after over 38 years of service. He was an Army veteran of WW II. An avid hockey fan, he was involved with the Syracuse Stars and enjoyed Oswego Speedway racing.
Survivors: his wife of 50 years, the former Beverly J. Hallenbeck; five daughters, Eleanor (Ray) Chesbro of Fulton, Delia (Anthony) Lasinski of Volney, Ruth DeMint of Texas, Susan (George) Roig of E. Syracuse and Janet (Mark) Richardson of Lakeland; a brother Peter (Virginia) of E. Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services: 7:00 pm Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are 5-7pm Wednesday at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street, prior to the service.
