Charlotte Virginia Morris Derby, 69, of Venice, FL & Baldwinsville, NY died March 6, 2007. She was born January 26, 1938 in Ogdensburg, NY and moved to this area in 2000 from Baldwinsville, NY. Mrs. Derby was a Visually Impaired Teacher in New York, retiring in 1999. She was a member of DeWitt Community Church in Baldwinsville, NY and Grace United Methodist Church in Venice, FL; member of the American Association of University Women; member of the Association of Visually Impaired in Syracuse, NY; volunteer for Pregnancy Outreach Program and the American cancer Society; received the national Teacher of the Year Award for Visually Impaired; retired from Onondaga BOCES in 1999. She is survived by her husband Robert of Venice & Baldwinsville, NY; Son David (Teresa) Rudd of Rochester, NY; daughter Carrie (John) Ryan of Tully, NY; 3 stepsons Martin (Laurie Ann) Derby of Hamburg, NY, Eric (Ellen) Derby of Clifton Springs, NY, & Brian Derby of Baldwinsville, NY; step-daughter Andrea Derby of Camillus, NY; sister Alice M. Poole of Canton, NY; brother Phillip (Jill) Morris of Wichita, KS; 4 grandchildren Lacey Rudd, Tyler Beckhorn, Justin & Cassidy Ryan; 7 step-grandchildren Aaron, Aurora, Elizabeth, Jamison, Rachel, Katrina & Jessica Derby; 1 niece & 3 nephews. Visitation in Venice, FL will be held Wednesday March 7th, 1:30- 2:00pm at Grace United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be held Wed., March 7th 2:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church. Florida arrangements at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. Services in Baldwinsville, NY 3:00pm Saturday at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 2-3pm at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., prior to the service.
