Anthony P. “Pee Wee” Sojdak, 74, of Baldwinsville passed away Saturday, December 9, 2006 at home with his family after fighting a dignified and courageous battle from cancer. He was born May 11, 1932 to two wonderful and loving parents, Anthony T. and Ella Forderkonz Sojdak. A life resident of Baldwinsville, he was a respected contractor and owner of Anthony Sojdak & Son for over 50 years serving Baldwinsville and surrounding areas. He worked for Lysander Highway in winters for over 25 years and then the Lysander Parks and Recreation in summer after retiring from his business. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 where he earned a Good Marksmanship Award. He was a member of the American Legion Post #113 and VFW Post #153. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors: his wife of 44 years, the former Patricia Ackerman; two daughters, Paula (Paul) Gould of Baldwinsville and Rita (Tom) Figueira of Lake Carmel, NY; two sons, Anthony (Michelle) of Berlin, NJ and Paul of Fulton; 10 grandchildren, Erica, Sage, and Alex Gould, Alison and Jimmy Figueria, Sammantha, Christopher, Madison, Gavin and Jake Sojdak; uncles Robert and Richard Forderkonz of Baldwinsville; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Services: 8:30am Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville and 9:00am at St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 4-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home, 93 Downer St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
