Eugene A. Butler, 82, of Syracuse died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at St. Josephs Hospital. He was born in the Town of Granby and lived in the Syracuse area the past 40 years. Gene retired in 1985 as an electrician from Crouse Hinds, after 23 years of service and retired as Chief Petty Officer after 20 years in the US Navy. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Local 268. Survivors: his wife of 60 years, the former Elanor Gannett; a daughter, Elizabeth Jean Walker of Syracuse; four sons, Darrell of Elk Grove, CA, Dale of Morrisville, NC, David of N. Syracuse and Darren of Monroe, LA; a sister, Louise of NC; a brother, Howard of Cato; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services: 9:00am Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Inc., Baldwinsville. Burial in Jacksonville Cemetery. Calling hours are 4-7pm Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street. Contributions: American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
