Leilah Mary Jenkins, 92, formerly of Baldwinsville and St. Lawrence Co. died Friday, December 31, 2004 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital in Syracuse. Born May 15, 1912 to Edward and Anna Stephenson Mitchell of Ogdensburg, NY. Married to Allan for 58 years, they resided in Odgensburg, Cranberry Lake and in Baldwinsville since 1987. Lee attended a one-room school house, graduated from LaFargeville and Clayton teacher training class; taught eight grades in a one room school house prior to enrolling at Canton ATI. Employment in Odgensburg included US government inspector at Cleveland Container Co. during WW II and several insurance agencies. She is predeceased by her husband Allan H. Jenkins, 1990, her parents, step-father Hubert Newton, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors: son, Dr. Harold A. (Marylyn); 3 grandsons Allan, Dale, David; 1 granddaughter Sheila Rogers; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews. Friends may gather 3:30-6:30 pm Monday, January 3, 2005 with memorial service at 5:30 pm at the home of her son, 1533 W. Genesee Rd., Baldwinsville. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Contributions may be made to the Baldwinsville Community Band c/o Phillip Sterling, 89 1/2 Oswego St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
