John M. Scherfling, 37, of Elgin, IL, died Monday, May 10, 2004. He was born in Syracuse and was a 1985 graduate of Baker High School, Baldwinsville and attended SUNY at Morrisville. He was a guitarist, singer and founding member of the band Crazy Diamond.
Survivors: his parents, Robert and Marguerite Scherfling of Baldwinsville; a brother, Robert Scherfling, Jr. of Baldwinsville; his paternal grandmother, Bernice Scherfling of Baldwinsville; a niece, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services: 11:00am Friday, May 14, 2004 at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Baldwinsville. Burial, Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Calling hours are 4-7pm Thursday, May 13, 2004 at the funeral home.
