Virginia Porter Brewer, 57, of Baldwinsville died Monday at Syracuse Home of Lou Gehrig's disease. She was born in Chengtu, Szechuan, China. She was a 1961 graduate of West Irondequoit High School, Rochester, a 1965 graduate of Oberlin College and a 1967 graduate of Duke University. She retired in 1998 after 22 years as director of physical therapy for the Syracuse Home Association, Baldwinsville. She was a member of University United Methodist Church, Syracuse; the American Physical Therapy Association; the Syracuse University Oratorio Society; and the Baldwinsville Theatre Guild. Her father, Robert J. Porter Sr., died in 1989. Survivors: Three daughters, Katherine E. Brewer-Jensen of Carrboro, N.C., Kristina A.B. Korolik of Wall, N.J., and Rebecca J. Brewer of Rocky Hill, Conn.; her mother and stepfather, Virginia S. and J. Kenneth Wiley of Clemson, S.C.; a sister, Penelope C. Rather of Boulder, Colo.; a brother, Robert J. Porter Jr. of Muskegon, Mich.; five grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in University United Methodist Church, 1085 E. Genesee St., Syracuse. No calling hours.
