Marie A. Coville, 68, of Clarkcrest Dr., Phoenix died Tuesday at Crouse Hospital after a 5 year battle with cancer. She graduated from Phoenix High School and Cazenovia College, majoring in Legal Secretarial. She was a town clerk for the town of Schroeppel from 1982-1997, and employed by HUD in the Village of Phoenix from 1977-1982. She was a secretary for General Electric, Costello, Cooney & Fearon Law Firm and Phoenix High School. She was a teachers-aide for the Phoenix Jr. High, Elementary and High School. She was a food demonstrater at various food stores and a School Census in Phoenix. She was a Dog Census in the town of Schroeppel and a Federal Census for Oswego County. She also work part-time at the OTB in Central Square. She was a member of the Pennellville Methodist Church and secretary for 10 years for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. She was also the Chairman of the Chamber Fall Festival for 3 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star #172 and a Charter Member of the Pride of Phoenix. She belonged to the Oswego County Town Clerk's Association, 3 years as President and 1 year as Secretary and was past president and secretary for the Oswego County Woman's Republican Club. She served for over 25 years on the Town of Schroeppel Republican Committee, 1 year as chairman and 11 years as Vice Chairman. She was also a past member of the Three Rivers Professional Women. She was Past President, Secretary and Advisor for the Phoenix Schools Alumni Committee, Town of Schroeppel Bloodmobile Chairman and the Author of Chit-Chat in the Phoenix Register Newspaper. She was a Founder and Chairman of the Community Talent Show in 1993 & 1994. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, attending local functions. She also had a love of garage sales, collecting calenders, post cards and elephants. She was a Notary Public since 1984.
Survivors: her husband of 15 years, Gordon L.; four sons, Kenneth L. (Kathy) Ennis of Midlothian, VA, William H. (Noreen) Ennis of Clay, R. Scot (Laurie) Ennis and Thomas D. Ennis both of Phoenix; 7 grandchildren; four step-children; 6 step-grandchildren.
Services: 11:00am Friday at the Pennellville United Methodist Church, Pennellville. Burial at Phoenix Rural Cemetery, Phoenix. Calling hours 2-4 & 7-9 pm Thursday at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
