Jean C. Coville, 77, of Baldwinsville died quietly at home on Sunday afternoon, September 28, 2003 from complications due to Primary Amyloidosis. The former Jean Chase was born in Fulton, New York, and lived in the Phoenix-Baldwinsville area all her life. She was a graduate of Central City Business Institute and held secretarial jobs prior to her marriage to Arthur J. Coville in 1949. After her years of raising children, she returned to the work force in 1968, working part-time for Interstate Brands Corp. and then, in 1976, moving to a full time position with the Radisson Development Office of the NYS Urban Development Corp., retiring from her position as Office Manager in 1993. Mrs. Coville was an active member of the Little Utica United Methodist Church, having served as choir director for many years. She was also active as an officer in the local and district units of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Coville was a member and past matron of the Baldwinsville Chapter and a past District Deputy of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Baldwinsville Travelers Club, the Female Charitable Society, and a member and past president of the Syracuse Home Auxiliary. Mrs. Coville and her husband lived for 36 years on Lamson Road near Wrights Corners. This was near the Chase family farm where she grew up as the fourth generation on the original 600 acres acquired by her great-grandfather around 1836. In 1990 Mr. and Mrs. Coville sold their home and moved to Village Green. Survivors: Arthur, her husband of 54 years; daughter Patricia Milford and her husband John, of Willoughby Hills, Ohio; three sons and wives-Bruce and Katherine Coville of Syracuse, Robert and Carolyn Coville of Skaneatelas, and Brian and Cheryl Coville of Delanson; and eight grandchildren. Services: A celebration of Jean's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003 at the Little Utica Methodist Church. Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at Falardeau's Funeral Home in Baldwinsville.
