Walter F. Martens Sr., 74, of Softwind Circle, Van Buren, died Friday at Birchwood Health Care Center, Liverpool. Born in Flint, Mich., he lived in New York City before moving to the Baldwinsville area in 1991. He was a salesman with Marten's Chemical Corp., Queens. He was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville, and a member of Canton Woods Senior Center. He was a Navy Seabee during World War II. Survivors: His wife of 55 years, Rosemary T.; two daughters, Mary Peabody of Albany and Kathleen Iovine of Baldwin; four sons, James and Thomas, both of Liverpool, W. Charles of Mahopac and Walter of Brewerton; two sisters, Betty Angeloro of Warwick, R.I., and Marilyn Martens of Spain; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Falardeau Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church. Burial, Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Liverpool. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Contributions: Francis House, attention Sister Kathleen, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse 13208.
