Virginia M. Carrington Benedict, 73, of Route 31, Memphis, died Friday, November 15, 2002. Born in Baldwinsville, she was a life resident of the Baldwinsville area. She retired in 2000 after 34 years as office administrator for Benedict Floors in Memphis. She was a school bus driver for several years in the Jordan-Elbridge school district and a volunteer driver for the FISH program. She is predeceased by two brothers, Robert Carrington who passed away on December 28, 1998 and Alan Carrington who passed away on July 8, 2002. Survivors: Her husband of 49 years, Vern G.; four daughters, Jean M. Smith and Mary Allen, both of Baldwinsville, Sharon L. Wright of Canby, Ore., and Sandra L. Martin of Memphis; three sons, Thomas A. of Warners, Frederick C. of Weedsport and John V. of Jordan; five sisters, Patricia Duger of Jordan, Nancy Gates of Redwood, Helen Falardeau and Carol Dorr, both of Baldwinsville, and Linda Carrington of Georgia; three brothers, Donald of Syracuse, David of Brewerton and Michael; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2002, at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street. Burial will be private. Contributions: Memphis Volunteer Fire Department, Cross Street, Memphis, NY 13112.
