Luther F. ''Gus'' Bliven, 85, of Baldwinsville died Sunday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Ithaca, he lived in Central New York for most of his life. He was a legislative correspondent and political columnist for The Post-Standard and the Herald American. He had worked for The Post-Standard since 1930. He was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville, and a member of the Legislative Correspondents Association and the Syracuse Press Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Rita Ellen, died in 1992. Survivors: Two sons, Stephen P. of Philadelphia, Pa., and Francis B. of Baldwinsville; a granddaughter. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Augustine's Church. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Contributions: St. Augustine's Church, O'Brien Road, Baldwinsville 13027.
