Obituary of Luther F. Bliven

Luther F. ''Gus'' Bliven, 85, of Baldwinsville died Sunday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Ithaca, he lived in Central New York for most of his life. He was a legislative correspondent and political columnist for The Post-Standard and the Herald American. He had worked for The Post-Standard since 1930. He was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville, and a member of the Legislative Correspondents Association and the Syracuse Press Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Rita Ellen, died in 1992. Survivors: Two sons, Stephen P. of Philadelphia, Pa., and Francis B. of Baldwinsville; a granddaughter. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Augustine's Church. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
