Nancy A. (Greene) Helmbold, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. She was born in Syracuse and raised in Solvay. She was employed by the NYS College of Medicine at Weiskotten Hall where she worked in the pathology lab. Her passion then became being a wife, mother, and homemaker. Many years later, Nancy rekindled her love for “being on the hill”, and became a volunteer for Crouse Hospital for over 23 years, working in several departments. Her fondest memories were vacationing in the Adirondacks with her family and pets. Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Arthur G. Helmbold, Jr in 2011 and her only sibling, Richard C. Greene in 2003. Survivors: her son, Arthur G. “Chip” Helmbold, III and her daughter and son-in-law Susan A. and Peter Sanborn all of Baldwinsville; her sister-in-law, Donna Greene of Solvay; step grandchildren, Vanessa (Jonathan) Rozier of Kensington, NH and Aaron Sanborn of Belmont, VT; step-great-grandchildren, Hayden and Isabella Rozier; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 5-7pm Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville with a service to follow at 7:00 pm. Entombment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. Contributions: American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., E. Syracuse, NY 13057 or the Humane Association of CNY, 4915 ½ W.
