Lila G. Ramsgard passed quietly, with her husband of 55 years, Bill, by her side on February 4th, 2015 at Iroquois Nursing Home where she had resided for the past 7 yrs. Lila was born on November 8th, 1935 to Jesse and Alice Evans. Originally from Mio Michigan, the family relocated to Syracuse Area when Lila was a young Girl. Lila graduated from St. Anthony’s of Padua High School in 1953. She was the class photographer. Lila’s first job was at St. Mary’s Orphanage on Grant Blvd. She loved working with the children. Lila later went on to work as a telephone operator and business representative for New York Bell Telephone and as a telephone operator for the Carrier Corporation. Her most treasured job was being a stay at home Mom Lila married William C. Ramsgard in 1959 and they settled and raised their family in Baldwinsville. Lila was an active member of St. Mary’s church. Lila was a talented Seamstress, often making her children matching outfits, so she could find them easier in a crowd. Lila had an artistic eye and she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and doing small home improvement projects. She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, John Evans; and two sisters, Mary Cauchy and Rita Evans (Sr. Mary Fidelia, OFM) She is survived by her husband, Bill; sister, Pat Williams; one daughter, Amy Casper (Joe); three sons, Mike, Mark (Julie) and Andrew (Sherie); and nine grandchildren Calling hours for Lila will be held at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street in Baldwinsville on Sunday, February 8th from 2pm – 5pm. A Funeral Mass will be held for Lila on Monday, February 9th at 11am at St. Mary’s Church in Baldwinsville. Flowers will be welcomed
