My condolences to the Craner family, who long ago were my neighbors on Kirk Ave. I never missed stopping at Craner Pharmacy to spend my pennies at the candy counter after school at St. Anthony's.

Audrey and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of your fathers passing. I was a frequent customer at Craner's Drug Store in my school days at St Anthony's. One of my favorite drinks then was
a chocolate coke. His drug store,as they called them, was the best in town. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
Sincerely,
Terry Quinn

Maureen-
I have thought of your father many times over the years. He was Comm at Van Duyn when I was in charge of Revenues and Billing in the Business Office. Your father was the most wonderful man. He always 'did it right'. He made many tough decisions when I went to him regarding unpaid bills. We collected so much outstanding debt that we put VanDuyn in the black, the only time it was ever in the black. I would go to him, tell him all the collection measures we had taken regarding an account, he would think about it then make a call, then come tell me they would pay. When I got there many beds were filled by politician's relatives and they felt they didn't have to pay. Your father ALWAYS 'made the call' and then they paid. I was going to write him a letter about ten years ago and tell him how much I respected him and what a great man he was, but I was told he had passed away. I'm sorry I didn't get that chance. He would have really appreciated that. I always think of him with the highest regard and respect. He was a giant among men, soft spoken, gentle, thoughtful, honest. When I read articles in Readers Digest about great people who touched someone's life, I think 'that article should be about Mr. Craner'. I'm sorry I can't come to services. I have severe allergies and can't go to funeral homes, etc. Sincerely, Gail Brennan

I grew up on Midland Avenue and have many memories of bringing my pennies, nickels and dimes for penny candy, popsicles and comic books to Craner's drugstore. Thank you for the memories.

Mr. Craner had a very positive influence on my life in my early years. I visited his home on Kirk Avenue in Syracuse many times as I was a friend and classmate of his son, Jamie.
Mr. Craner and his wife always treated me as if I was part of their superb family. I have nothing but good memories.
Mr. Roland Craner has now joined his wonderful wife in Eternal Peace. May the good Lord welcome Mr. Craner home to Heaven. Mr. Craner has earned his Eternal Reward.
