Emma E. Wood passed away peacefully on Saturday October 19, 2013 at Loretto Geriatric Center. Emma was born on November 3, 1914 in Theresa, NY, the daughter of the late Otis and Bessie Campbell. She was predeased by her parents and six siblings, her beloved husband of 43 years, James E. Wood, Sr. on March 21, 1975 and son, Kenneth O. Wood on November 4, 1991. Emma worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital for several years, retiring at age 70 in 1984. She was a devoted wife and mother, her love of her family was unsurpassed. She was a kind and generous soul who loved life and believed strongly in helping those less fortunate than her. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as an inspiration to all who knew her. Emma enjoyed traveling, crocheting, sewing and loved reading, but most of all spending time with her daughter Lynda and son-in-law, Fred. She had a deep love and commitment to her church family and her faith. She was a refined, intelligent and gracious woman who was complimented by her practical wisdom. Emma will be missed dearly by her family and many friends. Emma is survived by her daughter Lynda and son-in-law Fred Lannie of Liverpool; her son James E. Wood, Jr. of Richmond, VA; her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Loretto 10th floor for the love, kindness and dignity given to Emma. Also, a thank you to Dr. Dennis Nave and Dr. Gregory French for the wonderful care given over many years. Services: 10:00 am Thursday October 24, 2013 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Inc. Baldwinsville. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 1-4pm Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street.
