Larry M. Baird, 73, of Baldwinsville, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Josephs Hospital, Syracuse after a brief illness. He was born in Gloversville, NY and graduated from Gloversville High School in 1957. He was a US Navy Veteran and receivied his BS degree at SUNY Oneonta. He moved to Baldwinsville in 1970 and worked for Employers Insurance of Wausau several years before retiring from American International Group in 1998. During his time with Wausau he conducted safety seminars for the Occupational Safety & Health Administration. Larry was a life member of the Society of Safety Engineers, a member of the Centerville Memorial Masonic Lodge #648 in N. Syracuse and a member of the Liverpool Elks Lodge #2348. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, traveling and was an avid SU sports fan. Surviving are his wife, the former Carole J. Rossi; daughters, Joanne (Scott) Allen of Fredericksburg, VA, Lisa (Michael) Lang of Waitsfield, VT and Christina (Thomas) Halter of Penfield, NY; five grandchildren, Danielle Richardson, Sean Allen, Kimberly Allen, Matthew Halter and Daniel Halter; one great granddaughter, Cora Allen; and several nieces and cousins. Calling hours are 4-7pm Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Services are 11:00am Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the funeral home, 93 Downer St. Burial will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, NY.
