Charles E. Hermans, 91, of Baldwinsville passed away Friday, February 8, 2013, at Crouse Hospital. He was born in E. Rochester and lived in the Baldwinsville area for 50 years where he was known as the “Mayor of Grove Street”. Charlie was a 1940 graduate of E. Rochester High School. He was in the US Army from 1944 –1948, a proud WW II vet. He was retired after 42 years with Conrail. Charlie was a member of the United Transport Union, the American Legion and VFW Post. He was an avid golfer and baseball fan. Charlie was predeceased by a daughter, Ruth Cardinale of Long Beach, CA. Survivors: wife, Nancy A. Hermans; his children, Charles E. (Beverly) Hermans, Jr. of AK, Cryss (Robert) Rigdon of CA, Georgette (Robert) Gould of Oswego, Jeannette (Craig) Flowers of Liverpool, 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great- grandchildren; his siblings, Marguerite Klehammer, Jeannetta Hermans, Marie Pohl and George (Merry) Hermans; several nieces and nephews. Services: 9:30am Thursday, February 14, 2013 at St. Mary's Church Baldwinsville. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 4-7pm Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Contributions: Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
